Installation of new officers is underway.......

Today was an amazing day at the Rotary Club of Glennville.  Let me tell you about a little club in Glennville, Georgia!!  This club may be small, but they are doing some pretty incredible things.  This club is not only a 100% Paul Harris Rotary Club, it is a 100% Every Rotarian Every Year Club (every member contributed at least $100 to The Rotary Foundation).  And they are 100% Sustaining Member Club!  They are involved in their community at all different levels.  Many of their members received certificates for perfect attendance today too!  WOW!!
Perfect Attendance Rotarians!
Outgoing Assistant Governor Talmadge was honored by the 4 clubs he has helped during his service. It was a special day today!  Thank you Talmadge for all you do for Rotary!!

I had the honor of inducting the All Star Team for the Rotary Club of Glennville.  The induction included the President Darla Kicklighter, President Elect Tiffany Kicklighter, Past President Paul Stavriotis, Secretary Donald Fountain, Treasurer Will Sheffield, and Sgt at Arms Clyde Davis.

What a GREAT example to others in our district!!  This club is full of All Stars! As I drove home I thought about how many more clubs around are district are doing the exact same thing as the Rotary Club of Glennville!  It was a little overwhelming to know that we have a group of dedicated Rotarians making a difference in their communities, in lives around the globe and every week they are planning for the next project.  I'm so humbled to serve the Rotarians of District 6920.  With the right people in our clubs, projects and passion we will definitely live up to our theme for 2016-17; Rotary Serving Humanity.

Stay tuned.......

The countdown is underway.....

District Governor Elects all over the world are feeling a little anxious since the countdown has started with 10 days until they officially become District Governor for the districts they will serve.   Many of us have already been engaged in our districts.  I'm excited to serve those in District 6920! I had the privilege to present the Brunswick Club their 100% Paul Harris Club Banner a few weeks ago.

The next couple of weeks many clubs in our district will be inducting their incoming leadership, thanking those that served the 2015-16 Rotary year, and meeting with area Assistant Governors to make sure everything is in order for the incoming year.  And this is not unique to our district but will be occurring in districts all over the world.  Over 1.2 million members in over 530 districts with over 35,000 clubs in 142 different countries will be starting a new year July 1!

Rotary holds a very special place for me in life!  What is Rotary exactly? Rotary brings together people who step forward – leaders – who take on important issues for local communities everywhere. Rotary connects business and community leaders who discover and celebrate diverse perspectives to create positive change in our communities. Rotary is made up of people around the world working together to clean the environment, end polio, improve our communities, and accomplish many extraordinary things every single day.

What is unique about the 2016-17 Rotary year in Georgia?  We are going to celebrate 100 years of doing good in the world.  Rotarians from around the world will be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Rotary Foundation.  Georgia Rotary District Governors are excited to welcome thousands of Rotarians from around the world to Georgia in June 2017 in Atlanta!
