The countdown is underway.....

District Governor Elects all over the world are feeling a little anxious since the countdown has started with 10 days until they officially become District Governor for the districts they will serve.   Many of us have already been engaged in our districts.  I'm excited to serve those in District 6920! I had the privilege to present the Brunswick Club their 100% Paul Harris Club Banner a few weeks ago.

The next couple of weeks many clubs in our district will be inducting their incoming leadership, thanking those that served the 2015-16 Rotary year, and meeting with area Assistant Governors to make sure everything is in order for the incoming year.  And this is not unique to our district but will be occurring in districts all over the world.  Over 1.2 million members in over 530 districts with over 35,000 clubs in 142 different countries will be starting a new year July 1!

Rotary holds a very special place for me in life!  What is Rotary exactly? Rotary brings together people who step forward – leaders – who take on important issues for local communities everywhere. Rotary connects business and community leaders who discover and celebrate diverse perspectives to create positive change in our communities. Rotary is made up of people around the world working together to clean the environment, end polio, improve our communities, and accomplish many extraordinary things every single day.

What is unique about the 2016-17 Rotary year in Georgia?  We are going to celebrate 100 years of doing good in the world.  Rotarians from around the world will be celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Rotary Foundation.  Georgia Rotary District Governors are excited to welcome thousands of Rotarians from around the world to Georgia in June 2017 in Atlanta!
